Naloxone

Naloxone can save lives and assist in reversing the effects of overdose while waiting for medical assistance. Fraser House has Naloxone Kits and we can train you to know how to use the kit if you encounter someone who may be experiencing an overdose. Please let us know if you would like to have a naloxone kit.

 

Drug Checking

Fraser Health Authority provides several locations in the Region wherein a person can have a sample of their substance checked for fentanyl and sometimes for other substances as well.

National Overdose Response Service

1-888-688-6677

The service works by clients calling 1-888-688-NORS (6677). A caller is then connected to a virtual overdose supervisor who will monitor them for 15-30 min after they use.

Lifeguard App

The Lifeguard App was designed to assist a person who is using substances by sending a message at the person’s request once they have used a substance. If the person does not respond to the message to indicate that they are okay, an ambulance will be dispatched.

Opiate Agonist Treatment

Opiate Agonist Treatment is the most recommended intervention for anyone who has been using opiates and wants to stop. They will be assessed by a physician who can prescribe methadose, suboxone or other agonists that will support a person in moving away from opiate use. Opiate Agonist Treatment has been found to be the safest method of treatment for Opiate dependence.

“Moms Stop the Harm (MSTH) is a network of Canadian families impacted by substance-use related harms and deaths. We advocate to change failed drug policies and provide peer support to grieving families and those with loved ones who use or have used substances.
